Final Recommendations Expected From Group

RICHMOND – The Common Interest Communities' Structural Integrity and Reserves Group is expected to finalize its recommendations for the final report Wednesday, March 15 at 10 a.m. The group was formed following the deadly collapse of a condominium in Florida and was charged with the task of studying current laws addressing standards for structural integrity and for maintaining reserves to repair, replace, or restore capital components in common interest communities.

The Work Group was created under legislation, Senate Bill 740, which was passed by 2022 General Assembly and then approved by the Governor. The diverse group includes representatives of the Common Interest Community Board, building officials, developers, insurance professionals, attorneys and more.

This meeting is open to the public and will take place at the Virginia Tech Richmond Center located at 2810 North Parham Road, Suite 300 in Richmond. For more information, visit Virginia Regulatory Town Hall.
