About Our Director
Brian Wolford assumed the role of Director of the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation in July of 2024. Wolford has served in agency leadership since October 2023, when he was appointed to the role of DPOR’s chief deputy director. Prior to joining DPOR, he served with distinction in the U.S. Army, rising through the ranks from junior enlisted Soldier until retiring as a full Colonel.
Wolford’s leadership roles have entailed extensive operational and strategic planning and include multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, including three tours of duty with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Having served on peacekeeping missions in Egypt and Israel and on multiple natural disaster and pandemic response missions within the U.S., Wolford’s career has been marked by a commitment to operational efficiency and strategic foresight.
During his Army career, Wolford was awarded three Legions of Merit and two Bronze Stars. Wolford holds master’s degrees from Louisiana State University and the National Defense University.
